Beijing Badaling-Mutianyu Great Wall Tourist Area is a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction.

        The Great Wall is famous at home and abroad. There are great walls in many places in China. The most famous one in China is the Badaling Great Wall, and the most famous one abroad is the Mutianyu Great Wall.
        The Badaling Great Wall is located at the north entrance of Guangou Ancient Road, Jundushan, Yanqing District, Beijing. It is an important part of the Great Wall of China, a great defense project in ancient China, and a pass of the Ming Great Wall. The Badaling Great Wall is an important outpost of Juyong Pass. It was called "The danger of Juyong is not in the pass but in Badaling". The Badaling Great Wall is the earliest section of the Ming Great Wall that was opened to tourists. In March 1961, the "Great Wall-Badaling" was identified as the first batch of national cultural relics protection units. In 1961, the State Council designated the Badaling Pass and the city wall as a national key cultural relics protection unit. It was listed as a national key scenic spot in 1982; Badaling, as an important part of Beijing's Badaling-Mine Tombs scenic spot, was approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national-level scenic spots. In 1986, Badaling was named one of the sixteen scenic spots in the new Beijing and the top ten scenic spots in the country. It was included in the "World Cultural Heritage List" by UNESCO in 1987. In August 1991, Badaling, as the essence of the Great Wall of China, received the Human Cultural Heritage Certificate issued by UNESCO at the Palace Museum in Beijing. In December 1991, at the naming convention of the forty best tourist attractions in China held in Zhuhai (94 candidate scenic spots nationwide, 480,000 valid votes were collected), Badaling was famous for its scenic spots, with an absolute number of 370,000. The number of votes has become the top forty tourist attractions in China. In 1992, it was named the first in "Beijing Tourism World". On May 8, 2007, the Badaling Great Wall was approved by the National Tourism Administration as a national 5A tourist attraction.
        The Mutianyu Great Wall was supervised by Zhu Yuanzhang’s general Xu Da on the Northern Qi Great Wall site in 1368. This section of the Great Wall connects Gubeikou in the east and Juyongguan in the west. Since ancient times, it has been the military center for guarding Gyeonggi. There are famous enemy buildings such as Zhengguan Terrace, Grand Corner Tower, Eagle Flying Downward, etc., which have profound historical and extremely high cultural value.
         Surrounded by mountains, the scenery is beautiful and the vegetation coverage rate is over 98%. Known as "the Great Wall of Ten Thousand Miles of Mutianyu alone", it is one of the essence of the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty. It has the characteristics of fresh air, double-sided crenellations, peculiar gates, dense enemy buildings, strong three-dimensionality, and coexistence of inner and outer branches. The tourist area has a closed cable car, Shibide slide, Chinese Dream Stone City, Huairou Great Wall Culture Museum, Great Wall Villa, Yisonglou Restaurant, etc., with complete facilities and complete functions. It was rated as a national 5A tourist attraction in 2011.
        On June 28, 2014, the Mutianyu Great Wall Tourism Comprehensive Service Area was successfully completed and put into operation after one year of construction. The comprehensive service area integrates the three major functional areas of the Great Wall Cultural Exhibition Center, the Antique Commercial Street, and the Modern Dining Street, which greatly enhances the tourist reception and service capabilities of the Mutianyu Great Wall. The area of ​​the scenic spot has been expanded from the original 8 square kilometers to 24 square kilometers. The daily reception capacity has increased from 10,000 to 30,000. The Mutianyu Great Wall Tourism Comprehensive Service Area project has received extensive attention from all walks of life during the construction process. It is also an important milestone in the 31st anniversary of the opening of the scenic spot, marking that the scenic spot has entered a new stage of development and is of great significance.
        The construction of the Mutianyu Great Wall Tourism Comprehensive Service Area includes two large parking lots, underground and above ground, with 1,500 parking spaces, which will greatly alleviate parking problems during peak tourist hours. After the comprehensive tourism service area is completed, the merchants on both sides of the market road will be planned and arranged to the antique small commodity street. The restaurant street is positioned as "Great Wall Tourism, Beijing Quality, International Features", and more than 40 large and medium-sized shops with different characteristics will meet the needs of different consumer groups. In the 400-square-meter Great Wall Cultural Exhibition Center, various types of Great Wall cultural relics and precious exhibits provided by collectors will be displayed.
