Beijing Old Summer Palace Relic Park
Yuanmingyuan Ruins Park is a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction, a national key cultural relic protection unit, and a patriotism education base.
Old Summer Palace is located in Haidian District, the western suburbs of Beijing, close to the Summer Palace. It was built in the 46th year of Kangxi (1709), also known as the "Three Yuanming Gardens". It is the collective name of Yuanmingyuan and its attached gardens, Changchun Garden and Wanchun Garden. It is a palace-style imperial garden in the Qing Dynasty, covering an area of 350 hectares (5200 More than acres), of which the water area is about 140 hectares (2100 acres), and there are more than 100 gardens. It is a large-scale royal palace created and operated by the emperors of the Qing Dynasty for more than 150 years.
"Yuanmingyuan" was named by Emperor Kangxi. "Yuanming" is the Buddhist name used by Emperor Yongzheng since his prince. When Emperor Kangxi gave the garden to Yinzhen (later Emperor Yongzheng), he inscribed the garden as "Yuanmingyuan" because of this. The Emperor Yongzheng explained that the meaning of the word "Yuanming" is: "Yuanming is perfect when you are a gentleman; when you are bright and shining, you are wise." It means that "round" means that there is no lack of personal character. Surpassing ordinary people; "Ming" refers to political achievements, perfect and wise.
The Old Summer Palace has inherited China’s three thousand years of excellent gardening tradition. It not only has the grace and luxury of palace architecture, but also the euphemism and variety of gardens in the south of the Yangtze River. At the same time, it has absorbed the European garden architectural form and blended different styles of garden architecture. As a whole, the overall layout makes people feel harmonious and perfect. It embodies the essence of ancient Chinese gardening art. It was the most outstanding large-scale garden at that time. Emperor Qianlong said it: "The realm of heaven and earth, the land of the emperor's tour, there is no way beyond this." The Old Summer Palace is not only famous for its gardens, but also a royal museum with a rich collection. The halls in the garden are decorated with countless red sandalwood furniture, and many rare cultural relics at home and abroad are displayed. Yuanzhongyuan Pavilion is one of the four largest royal library in the country. There are precious books and cultural relics such as "Siku Quanshu", "Integration of Ancient and Modern Books", "Siku Quanshu Hui Yao" and so on. The Old Summer Palace was once famous for its grand geographical scale, outstanding construction skills, exquisite architectural scenery, rich cultural collections and extensive and profound national cultural connotations. It was known as the "model of all garden-building art" and "10,000 Garden of the Garden".
